StealthMotion is a top-down stealth-action game developped over the course of three months. The objective of the game is to get through the levels by using the avatar's special abilities which allow him to inflict fear and love upon the guards he needs to face before getting to the end of the level. In order to do this, the player first has to get close to a guard to obtain a piece of his DNA while avoiding detection. Then, he needs to shoot a dart containing the chosen emotion towards another guard. If love is chosen, then the guard whose DNA was obtained will immediatly run towards the guard struck by the dart. If fear is chosen, then the former will flee the latter. There are a total of 13 levels in the game.
We were a team of five game designers. As such, we took care of the graphics as well.
I worked worked on the game design and designed three levels. I also wrote the dialogue the guard's dialogue that appeared when the player used his truth dart. Unfortunately, this feature was not implemented because of time constraints.
What I learned
What I would have improved
While three of my levels made into the game, five didn't meet the same fate. My lack of Level Design skills at the time didn't allow me to come-up with levels as challenging as we wanted them to be. I also started designing the levels with very little experience outside of school. I would have liked to have the hindsight of studying Level Design a bit more before starting this project in order to design more challenging levels as a whole.
